Ahead of the forthcoming national census, the National Population Commission (NPC) will today (Monday) commence the Enumeration Area Demarcation (EAD) exercise in Ikorodu Local Government Area (LGA) of Lagos State as it is one of the densely populated areas and one of the NPC divisions in the state.
Ahead of the EAD exercise which is a precursor to the actual census, the NPC team led by the Federal Commissioner representing Lagos State, Barrister Bimbola Salu Hundeyin, met with political and traditional leaders in the local government during a stakeholders’ interaction at the palace of the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Abdulkabir Adewale Shotobi.

Daily Trust learnt that about 170 officials have been deployed for the exercise which will last for about six weeks.
In attendance at the meeting were the Senator representing Lagos East, Tokunbo Abiru, House of Representatives Member from Ikorodu, Jimi Benson, and local government chairmen in Ikorodu NPC Division.
Barrister Hundeyin urged the indigenes of the local government to cooperate with the EAD teams by giving them accurate information.
She said, “We must include the name of everybody living with us. Let us say it as it is. Give us the necessary cooperation for us to have a seamless exercise.
