The National Population Commission has warned its enumerators to be apolitical and security-conscious considering the peculiarity of Borno while embarking on a test run of digital devices across 9 local government areas of the state.
Federal Commissioner in Borno State Barr. Isa Audu Buratai made this known while briefing newsmen to mark the commencement of the trial census in Maiduguri on Tuesday.

Barr. Buratai explained that 45 enumerators have been selected across the 9 LGAs of the state where the trial census is to be conducted. The LGAs are: Kukawa, Nganzai, Marte, Mafa, Jere, Ngala, Biu, Hawul and Chibok.
“We have sensitized our enumerators on the need for safety, they should be security conscious, they need to be very careful, they should only restrict themselves to the job they were asked to do. They should stay away from politics and religious issues that can result in unnecessary tensions,” he said.
