The outgoing Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Idrisu Dauda Dabban, said the command has arrested and detained the police officers who were on duty when two suspected criminals escaped on Friday from police cell at Egume in Dekina Local Government in the state.

He said the two officers were undergoing orderly room trial at the police command headquarters in Lokoja.

Dabban disclosed this on Tuesday in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, DSP William, in Lokoja and made available to Daily Trust.

He reiterated the commitment of the command to synergise with other security agencies in its quest to rid the state of crimes.

A suspected kidnapper, who killed his victim and was transferred from Lokoja to a police station in Egume and an electrical vandal were reported to have escaped from the police cell on New Year’s eve from the station.
