Senate Leader Mohammad Ali Ndume has denied interceding with President Muhammadu Buhari on behalf of Senate President Bukola Saraki who is facing trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).
Ndume was addressing State House correspondents yesterday shortly after meeting with President Buhari at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa.
The Senate president is currently being tried for allegedly making false asset declaration in his forms at the Code of Conduct Bureau as a two-term governor of Kwara State.
The Supreme Court had on February 5 ruled that Saraki’s trial be continued at the CCT on 13 counts of false asset declaration. The CCT had last Friday said his trial would resume on March 10.
