A civil society group, Advocates of Social Justice for All (ASJA), also said yesterday that the Code of Conduct Bureau (CBB) acted right by confirming assets declared by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt-Gen. Tukur  Buratai.
The National President of the organisation, Torkuma Venatius, told newsmen in Abuja that the timely intervention of the CCB put a quick end to any distraction that a prolonged tussle may have caused Buratai in his resolve to quickly finish the Boko Haram war.
According to him, the group, like other Nigerians, had called for the COAS to step down, but that there were lots of deliberate misinformation about the properties from the outset.
“A lot has been unearthed since the allegation against him first surfaced. In the course of investigation, we found out that there was deliberate mischief aimed at misleading the public through misinformation and distortion of facts pushed into the public space,” he said.
