Speaking at the public presentation of a book on “PR beyond the Banking Hall” the Deputy Director, Products and Planning Office, Banking Operations Department of the CBN Abayomi Atoloye said, “communication is strategic to corporate governance and could enhance better understanding of operations in banking.”

He said the book written by Kabir Dangogo, who had worked in the Union Bank PR department couldn’t have come at a better time than now that the need for communication and engagement is key in the banking sector.

He said, “It should be noted that the engagement of the banking sector in public communication is not just some kind of media hype through excessive visibility on the pages of newspapers or the number of times an organization is mentioned in the media but rather, it is about how much enlightenment the stakeholders become about business processes and the why and how of important policy issues.”
