The seminar which attracted heads of federal and state governments’ ministries and parastatals, was declared open by the Acting CBN Governor Dr.Sarah Alade.
She was represented at the occasion by the Jigawa State Branch Controller of the CBN Alhaji Danjuma Adamu Mohammed.
She said the introduction of the cashless policy by the CBN was meant to meet vision 2020 requirement, modernise payment system, foster transparency and curb corruption and leakages among others.
In his presentation, Aminu Aminu Bizi said cashless policy is the future of banking in Nigeria, adding that Jigawa has already embraced cash less policy with the training of youth in e-transaction who are now serving as agents in communities where there are no banks in the state.
He called on the people to invest in e-money business, saying “it is profitable.”
Ahmed Muhammed Abdulkadir, in his presentation, said if the culture of cashless policy became entrenched, the government, consumers, corporate organisations and banking sector will be the greatest beneficiaries.
