The head, Consumer Education Division of the Consumer Protection Department, Chinyere Jane Nwobilor said:  “Without financial literacy, children will not be able to imbibe financial discipline.

The essence of it is to educate and enable them to acquire financial capability.

“We are trying to catch them young to be able to save, earn and invest.”

The CBN, which is the coordinator of all stakeholders in this year’s celebration also hinted at ensuring continuity by integrating financial literacy campaigns in the educational curriculum very soon.

“The theme for this years’ event is ‘plan your money and plant your future’. You plan through savings, budgeting, investment as well as learning to separate needs from want,” Nwobilor added.
