Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) through its micro finance bank under the Nigeria Risk Incentive Sharing Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL) in collaboration with Springfield Agro has empowered 40 farmers with power forces tractors in Kaduna State.
The gesture, Daily Trust on Sunday gathered, was aimed at piloting agriculture business as well as small and medium enterprises investment scheme for the beneficiaries.
During the distribution of the tractors, the Assistant General Manager, Head Credit and Marketing Micro Finance Bank, NIRSAL, Ijomah Ginika, said the pilot phase of the programme was aimed at complementing federal government’s efforts to boost mechanised farming.
While presenting the tractors to the beneficiaries, Head Tractors Agric Mechanisation Division of Springfield Agro, Monaj Ramakrishnan, reassured of the readiness of the company to support the set objectives in Nigeria.
The Director, Agric Services in Kaduna State Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Ya’u Kasim, appealed to stakeholders to support the set objective.
