The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has donated a hostel that can accommodate 260 students to the Federal Polytechnic Bali, Taraba State.
The chairman, governing council of the polytechnic, Bala Sani Kangiwa, disclosed this in an interview with Daily Trust in Jalingo.
He said the apex bank is also constructing a clinic that will be equipped with medical facilities in the polytechnic.
Kangiwa, who expressed appreciation to the bank for providing the structure, assured that it would be put to proper use for the welfare of both students and staff of the institution.
He also revealed that the governing council of the polytechnic has approved the promotion of 120 senior and junior staff and change of cadre of six staff as part of the welfare scheme put in place to encourage staff of the institution to be hard working.
The chairman explained that the council will continue to support both academic and non-academic staff to excel in their duties, saying, the institution is training and retraining its staff while at the same time the staff were allowed to go for further studies.
Kangiwa also expressed satisfaction over the cordial working relationship between management and the staff of the polytechnic.
