About 500,000 traders belonging to various co-operative groups are to benefit from the N2 billion Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)’s micro, small and medium development fund loan scheme in Katsina.
While flaging off the disbursement of the loan, Governor Aminu Masari said the state government would shoulder the loan’s 9 percent interest to reduce the burden on beneficiaries.
He warned them against defaulting in repayment of the loan in order to enable others benefit as the programme is revolving.
According to him, government was committed towards ensuring it boosts local economy by empowering people to engage in ventures with multiplier effects on the society.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Alhaji Ibrahim Ladan kankiya assured prompt repayment of the loan and thanked the administration for the gesture.
