Governor Abdullahi Sule has appealed to Fulani to embrace the National Livestock Transformation Programme (NLTP) which will soon commence in Nasarawa State to ensure long-lasting peace for both herders and farmers.
He made the call when he hosted members of the Fulbe Youths and Women Ruga-Ruga Campaign Organisation, at the government house on Wednesday.

According to the governor, the Fulani stand to benefit tremendously if they embraced and supported the programme with the federal government securing a financial grant from the Netherlands government to the tune of 400, 000 Euros for the project to commence in the state.
He explained that his administration bought into the idea of the NLTP because it desired peace for both herdsmen and farmers in the state.
He pointed out that when the scheme finally kicks off, with Nasarawa State first among other states where the NLTP will begin, herdsmen are expected to be confined within a location where schools, hospitals, security outpost, grasses for cattle and water for both humans and animals would be provided.
The governor, who sought further cooperation from the Fulani youths in the state, urged them not to join bandits and kidnappers but to embark on enlightenment campaign on the negative consequences of the vices.
