Catholic diocese donates food, sanitary materials to IDPs

The Catholic Diocese of Minna has donated food items and sanitary materials to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Gwada in Shiroro LGA of Niger State as part of celebrations of this year’s World Communication Day.

 City & Crime had reported how bandits had continued to attack farming communities in Niger State, leading to deaths and abduction of many people, including community and religious leaders.

 The Director of Social Communications, Catholic Diocese of Minna, Very Rev Fr Jude Offor, said the relief support was to cushion the hardship being faced by the IDPs.

 Also speaking, the Director, Justice Development and Peace Commission (JDPC) of the diocese, Rev Fr Bahago Dauda, called on well-meaning individuals to assist the victims of the attacks with relief materials.
