Casemiro undergoes Man Utd medical ahead of £60m transfer

Casemiro is well on his way to becoming a Manchester United player, with the Brazilian already undergoing his medical ahead of the deal.

The Red Devils announced they had reached a £60million agreement, that could rise to £70m, with Real Madrid for Casemiro on Friday evening.

After United’s announcement, Real said they will perform an “institutional act of homage and farewell to Casemiro will take place at Real Madrid City on Monday morning, with the presence of club president Florentino Perez.”

Casemiro was one of the key members of a Real Madrid squad that reigned over Europe in the mid-2010s.

And he will link back up with former Los Blancos team-mates Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Casemiro wants a new challenge after almost ten years in Madrid, and Los Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti said: “I talked to (Casemiro) and he wants to try a new challenge, a new opportunity. I and the club understand it.

“With what he’s done at this club and the person he is, we have to respect it. There are talks right now, nothing is official, but he wants to leave. We wish him all the best in his next challenge.

He has become the fourth signing of the summer at United under new boss Erik ten Hag and they are hopeful the signing of the Brazilian will spark a late influx of arrivals.
