Casemiro Man Utd move ‘delayed due to visa issue’

Manchester United’s £60m deal for Casemiro has reportedly been delayed due to a visa problem, with the Red Devils not expected to confirm his arrival until the middle of next week.

The 20-time English champions announced on Friday evening that they had come to an agreement with Real Madrid over the transfer of the Brazil international.

“Manchester United is delighted to announce that the club has reached an agreement with Real Madrid for the transfer of Casemiro,” read the statement on the club’s official website.

“The transfer is subject to the agreement of personal terms, UK visa requirements and a medical. Casemiro has played over 500 professional games, including 63 at the international level for his native Brazil.

“He has won 17 major honours in his illustrious career including five Champions League titles and the Copa America. We all look forward to welcoming Casemiro to Old Trafford.”

However, according to The Athletic, the midfielder will not arrive in the United Kingdom in time for the game against Liverpool due to some issues with his visa.

As a result, the 20-time English champions are unlikely to be able to confirm the South American’s arrival until the middle of next week.

Casemiro should join up with his new teammates ahead of the clash with Southampton on August 27, with his debut potentially coming against the Saints at St Mary’s.
