Heavy flooding has trapped vehicles and travellers at Anini village along the Abuja-Lokoja expressway.
The road links the north and east of the country.

A Daily Trust correspondent also trapped on the road said floodwaters came over a hill and flashed through a newly established Dominican College located along the highway.
Five vehicles are stuck in the flood, which has taken over both lanes of the ever-busy road.
Motorists on both lanes were forced to stop, as the heavy flood intensified, while some passengers on board disembarked from their vehicles to watch the flood.
Also, some commercial drivers were forced to turn back because of heavy floods, while some travellers especially male adults rolled up their trousers to wade through floodwaters.
“And I can tell you that this heavy flood may cause some damage to the road because of the heavy trucks that plies through it daily,” a passenger, Emmanuel Ebuka, said.
The flooding has also submerged farmlands in the area especially at Gada-Biyu, whose Inhabitants are mostly dry season farmers.
It was observed that crops such as farm maize, rice, banana, pepper and Tomatoes have been completely submerged by the flood, while some mango trees and sugarcane and palm trees were also pulled away.
