A car wash attendant, Muhammad Issa, has been arrested after he bolted away with a Toyota Camry 2012 belonging to a customer in Lagos State.
The 22-year old suspect allegedly disappeared with the car three days after he was employed as an attendant in a carwash in the Isheri area of Lagos.
A source said the car was given to him by its owner for cleaning on Sunday, but that soon after the owner left, the suspect drove away with the vehicle.
Lagos State police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the arrest said the suspect was arrested in the Agege area of the state where he had gone to negotiate the sale of the car.

He explained that, “Preliminary investigation revealed that the car was handed over to the suspect three hours earlier by the owner in preparation for a family outing later in the afternoon.
“Mohammed, who was employed at the car wash three days before the incident, removed the number plate of the car and discarded all identities linking the car to its owner immediately after he arrived Agege.”
