The police in Kano State have intercepted a Volkswagen Golf loaded with 135 parcels of Indian hemp ostensibly being transported to Kano from Katsina State.
Spokesman of the command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, disclosed this to newsmen at the weekend.

He said the arrest followed an intelligence-led surveillance led by CSP Aminu S. Wurno, DPO of Rogo, at Damagiri village in Kano State on the Katsina-Kano border.
He said on sighting the police the driver jumped out and abandoned the car.
He further said, “Upon search, 135 parcels of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp valued at N1,350,000 were recovered in the vehicle. An investigation conducted revealed that the driver deals in buying and selling of Indian hemp and that he left his residence that day for an unknown destination.”
