A car at the weekend crushed a lecturer in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Faculty of Science, Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, Kogi State, Mr Femi Adegboye.
City & Crime gathered that the incident happened at the weekend while the lecturer was waiting to board a taxi from Kaduna Junction, a suburb of Lokoja along the Lokoja- Okene Expressway.
A witness said the car which was on top speed knocked the lecturer off the road and zoomed off, adding that he died before help got to him.
The spokesman of CUSTECH, Balogun Omeiza, said the incident threw the university community into mourning.
The Vice Chancellor (VC) of CUSTECH, Prof Salawu Sadiku, said, “The death of Mr Femi Adegboye came to us all as a rude shock, and we have no reason whatsoever to question God.
“As much as we wanted to have a long lasting working relationship with Mr Femi Adegboye, the result of his untimely death has cut off our relationship, and I must confess that this is a hard pill for us to swallow as an institution.”
