The head coach of Akwa United Kennedy Boboye has said his side is in Algiers for a win in the second leg of their CAF Champions League preliminary round match against CR Belouizdad today.

It will be recalled that Akwa United secured a 1-0 victory over the Algerian champions in the first leg in Uyo.

Speaking ahead of the game, Boboye said he has studied his opponents well and will use that knowledge to get the maximum points as they bid to secure qualification to the next round.

“Our match in Algiers this weekend is a very important one and we will go all out for it. Before the first leg in Uyo, we didn’t have a good idea of how they (CR Belouizdad) play, but after that game, we now have a fair knowledge of our opponents and we are going to approach it differently.

“I have observed that we are playing different patterns of football and we have to adopt a good tactical formation that will be good enough for us to express ourselves and get a favourable result.

“We are fully aware of the importance of this game, and I have talked with my players on what is expected of us. For us to make it to the next round, we have to go all out for victory on Sunday, although a draw will still be good enough.

“We have received lots of encouragement and support, and we will do our best to reciprocate that gesture by getting a good result, thus giving our fans and supporters something to celebrate” Boboye assured.
