CAF: Rivers United players determined to win in Egypt

The captain of Rivers United Nelson Esor has maintained that they are in Egypt to win ahead of the second leg match of the CAF champions league against Al Hilal of Sudan.

“You said, they all knew what it’s at stake in Egypt and are ready to give what it takes to win the game. Every player that made this trip knew what is at stake, the only thing we owe Rivers United fans and Nigerians is to qualify for the group stage.

“Whenever it will take us to qualify, we will surely do it on Sunday and give our best. We are not under pressure, we went to Tanzania and got the victory and we are hoping that here in Egypt on Sunday we will get all 3 points, that’s why we came with hope and we believed that we can do it,” he said.

Meanwhile, Senegalese side Diamba FC have complained bitterly about the poor treatment they have received in Nigeria ahead of the second leg match against Enyimba international.

The club is hoping to turn the table against the 2-time African champions after suffering 0-1 home loss last weekend.

“Diambars arrived in Nigeria this morning to play his return leg of the CAF Cup preliminary round against Enyimba.

“On arrival at the Nigerian airport, we were amazed to note the absence of the bus that was to bring them to the hotel,” the statement reads.

The game is slated for today at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba.
