The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has released nominees for the 2024 Men’s Player of the Year award.
The much-anticipated list featured Nigerian talents Ademola Lookman and William Troost-Ekong among others
However striker Victor Boniface and reigning African Footballer of the Year Victor Osimhen were notably absent from the final selection.
The ten-man shortlist includes Morocco’s defensive powerhouses Achraf Hakimi and Sofiane Rahimi among the nominees, alongside Algeria’s Amine Gouiri.

Ivory Coast’s Simon Adingra also features, while DR Congo’s Chancel Mbemba and Guinea’s Serhou Guirassy were selected.
Completing the list are Burkina Faso’s Edmond Tapsoba and South Africa’s Ronwen Williams.
CAF had earlier confirmed that the 2024 CAF Awards will take place in Marrakech, Morocco, on December 16, 2024.
This is the third consecutive time the prestigious ceremony will be hosted in the North African country.
