Plateau United bowed out of the CAF Champions League after succumbing to a 1-0 defeat against Esperance of Tunisia in Rades on yesterday night.
The Nigeria representative won the first leg 2-1 at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja last weekend and travelled to Tunisia with high hope of turning the table against Esperance.

Plateau United sat deeper throughout the first half and soaked the pressure and they were able to end the half in a scoreless affair.
The second stanza started the same way with former African champions dominating the game and their effort finally paid off in the 82nd minute Plateau United fouled the host attacker outside the 18-yard box.
The hosts were awarded a controversial penalty in the 83rd minute by the centre referee with Ben Romdhane beating Suraj Ayeleso to send the home supporters into frenzy.
The Peace Boys have now dropped to the CAF Confederation Cup following their elimination.
Nigeria’s other representative in the competition Rivers United will confront defending champions Wydad Athletic Club of Morocco today.
