The Registrar General of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Alhaji Garba Abubakar, said the Commission has launched an electronic process for company registration and certificate generation.
Addressing journalists in Abuja on Monday, he said CAC launched the enhanced Company Registration Portal on January 3, 2021, that now processes all applications for company registration online in line with the new Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA).

The new CAMA recognises the right of individuals to process company registrations without engaging lawyers or even chartered secretaries.
He said all registered customers of the CAC, who register companies on behalf of the public, must revalidate their registrations before the end of March through electronic process.
On the commission’s performance, Abubakar said he inherited N6 billion liability and that 80 per cent of it has been cleared.
He also said N700bn tax liability has been settled while N2.7bn operating surplus has been remitted to the coffers of the federal government.
Abubakar further said two promotion exams were held in 2020, where 258 staff got promoted for 2019 and 190 staff for 2020, adding that over N330 million salary differentials for the promoted staff was paid last year.
