The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) is to phase out manual application and registration from 30th April this year, Registrar of the Commission, Alhaji Mahmud Bello has said.

Bello dropped the hint at a forum organized by the commission in collaboration with the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC).

He said from April 30, 2017 all submissions must be done online, noting that the implementation of the new rule would begin from Kano and Lagos states respectively.

“The 24-hour registration process is among series of reforms implemented by the commission this year. It makes registration exercise quicker, cheaper and more convenient for Nigerians to start businesses,” he said.

The forum was organized to demonstrate to lawyers, accountants and other stakeholders the new method of registration of companies within 24 hours.

Highlights of the events include live technical demonstration session on the commission’s latest reforms such as the document upload interface which enables e-submission of registration documents on the CAC company registration portal and the integration of the FIRS e-payment solution into the CAC portal to enable e-stamping.
