The chairman, who was responding to the measure being adopted by the council to get the residents aware of the existence of the virus in some part of the country as well as its preventive measures, said the health department of the council would advise the residents accordingly.
He advised the residents to always maintain acceptable personal hygiene as well as avoiding activities that can aid the contract of the virus.
The chairman said his administration has placed more priority to the health of the people of the council by ensuring that all the residents can access health facilities within the radius of five kilometers.
He said health centres were built in various rural communities by the council in junction with the FCT MDGs office and urged the locals to make judicious use of them by visiting the centres when the need arises.
The chairman also hinted that many rural electrification projects were captured in the 2014 council’s budget, which he said, has been approved by the National Assembly.
Ushafa urged the people of the area to continue to live peacefully with one another and as well be security conscious all the time.
