BVAS will change face of 2023 elections – Ex-Senate leader

A former leader of the Senate, Victor Ndoma-Egba, has thrown his weight behind the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over its resolve to use the Bimodal Voters’ Accreditation System (BVAS) and other technology during the conduct of the 2023 general elections.

Ndoma-Egba, who spoke in Abuja when members of the APC National Integrity Movement (ANIM) visited him at his residence, said the development will change the face of the 2023 general election, expressing confidence that the APC will emerge victorious.

He added that the 2023 election would be different from previous elections as technology would play key roles, saying people have become very aware and are going to be making very informed choices.

SPONSOR AD

“The EndSARs movement, before it was hijacked, opened our eyes to new possibilities in social mobilization.

“Right now, some people are deploying that, which means that we should have an answer to that mobilization.

“The attitude we should take to the next election should be one of volunteerism. We must encourage the concept of volunteers in APC and I think this movement is a movement of volunteers,” he said.

The national coordinator of the movement, Abubakar Saadu, said the movement would work to ensure that the technology being deployed works in favour of the APC.

“We are going to respond to those challenges in a way that will benefit the APC because we have the track record.

“We have the history, the outreach, we are embedded in virtually every electoral unit of this country,” he said.
