Kano command of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has confirmed the arrest of 53-year-old businessman, Salisu Dala, on allegations of sexual abuse of two under-aged girls.
NAPTIP Zonal Commander in the state, Shehu Umar, confirmed the suspect was arrested, following receipt of actionable intelligence on September 11.

“The suspect confessed to have sexually abused the two girls aged 13 and 14 years old respectively. He has been in the act for the past four years with different under-aged girls”
Umar revealed that the victims hawked unprocessed milk, ”Fura da Nono” and “Dambu’ delicacies, for a living.
He said the suspect gave the victims between N500 to N700 after he had sexually abused them.
Meanwhile, the agency says it has rescued 135 victims and arrested 86 suspected human traffickers in Kano State from January to September.
The zonal commander who revealed this said the rescued 135 victims comprised 23 males and 112 females.
He explained that the command received 86 cases which involved 22 external and internal human trafficking, 28 child abuse cases, five child labour cases, four sexual abuse cases and six rape cases adding that 21 of the cases had been transferred to other relevant security agencies.
