Bus conductors jailed 3 months each for fighting

An area court in Jos, Plateau State, on Tuesday, sentenced two bus conductors, Isah Abubakar and Abdulrazak Salihu, to three months in prison each for fighting in public and constituting a nuisance.

The Judge, Shawomi Bokkos, who sentenced the convicts after they pleaded guilty to the offences, however, gave them an option of N10,000 fine each.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp Monday Dabit, told the court that information was received at the Laranto Police Division that the defendants were engaged in a fight behind the St Augustine’s Major Seminary contrary to the provisions of Section 83 of the Plateau State Penal Code Law of Northern Nigeria.
