The Global Association of West African Youths (GLOWAY) and the West African Women Association (WAWA) have commended the resolution of the coup in Burkina Faso describing it as a victory to West Africa and Africa at large.
The groups in a joint statement yesterday made available to Daily Trust by Global President GLOWAY Baruga Abdullahi Ibrahim and Country Focal Person WAWA, Dr. Beatrice O. Ubeku also commended the effort of international communities and appreciated the effort of all the countries towards the resolution of the crisis.
They urged the transitional president, Michael Kofando to use his office to prove to the world that Burkina Faso can conduct a fair and free election.
Besides, the statement noted that ECOWAS has demonstrated to the world that it was capable of effecting regional intervention and confirmed their willingness to deliver the sub region from the fangs of charlatans.
They lauded the intervention of President Muhammadu Buhari which yielded instant impact and boosted his credentials as an African statesman and supported his boosted his image in diplomacy.
“The facts that this problem was resolved internally was an indication that we are heading for a direction that will set a blueprint for others,” the statement said.
