Buratai: Oil thieves, bandits will have hard nuts to crack in N/East

A former Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt Gen Tukur Buratai (Rtd), has said oil thieves and bandits threatening to attack and takeover oil sites in the North East will have hard nuts to crack.

Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari, in November, last year, flagged off the drilling of crude oil at the Kolmani Field on the border of Bauchi and Gombe states in the North East.

Speaking during a fund-raising dinner and unveiling of the manifesto for the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar (Rtd), in Abuja on Friday night, Buratai disclosed that bandits and oil thieves were threatening to take over oil wells in Bauchi.

On his part, a former Governor of Bauchi State, Isa Yuguda, said, “Sadique Abubakar will emerge as the next Governor of Bauchi State and the narrative will change.”

Meanwhile, over N1bn was realised at the dinner as donors from different walks of life, mostly politicians and businessmen, made their donations at the event.
