‘Buni will heal APC to retain power beyond 2023’

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former governorship aspirant in Anambra State, John-Bosco Onunkwo, has said the Governor Mai Mala Buni-led National Caretaker Committee will heal the wounds in the party and prepare it to retain power beyond 2023.

The Buni-led committee is making efforts at reconciling aggrieved party members and preparing grounds for the APC National Convention following the sack of the former national chairman Adams Oshiomhole-led National Working Committee (NWC).

Speaking with newsmen yesterday in Abuja, Onunkwo said the committee was ensuring that the essence for the formation of the APC was rediscovered.

“Of course, all of us know that they are here to redeem our party; they are here to make sure that so many things are put in the right direction. They are here for proper reconciliation, they are here to make sure that we rededicate ourselves to rediscover the nitty-gritty of why this party is formed.

“This is a party for the grassroots; this is a party that we are using to emancipate people from the shackles of bondage and we know we are here to represent the dreams and aspirations of the president who has done so well in terms of infrastructural development, in terms of agricultural development and in fact, in terms of diversification.

“I enjoin other party faithful for all of us to come together to strengthen our party, to make it more formidable, to make it more cohesive for the battle ahead,” he said.
