The Yobe State governor, Mai Mala Buni, and his deputy, Idi Barde Gubana, have been sworn in for their second term in office.
The oath of office and allegiance was administered by the chief judge of the state, Justice Gumna Kashim Kaigama.

While addressing the crowd of supporters during his inaugural speech, Buni commended former President Muhammadu Buhari for stabilizing Yobe and saving it from the Boko Haram insurgency.
The governor said his administration had developed a post-insurgency recovery plan and re-integrated most internally displaced persons (IDPs).
