Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni was Thursday treated with a heroic welcome when he returned to his state a day after he formally handed over office to the newly elected Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sen. Abdullahi Adamu.
Damaturu the state capital was at a standstill with thousands of people from the 17 local government areas and the neighbouring states of Borno, Gombe, Adamawa,Taraba and Bauchi. Speaking at a reception organised in his honour, Gov. Buni commended the people of the state, the North East and the states in the country for supporting him as chairman caretaker committee of the party.

Buni urged APC members to support the new National Working Committee to deliver the party in the 2023 election. The President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, commended Governor Buni for resuscitating the party.
