The president of Niger Republic, Mohamed Bazoum, has approved the award of the country’s national honour to the Yobe State governor, Mai Mala Buni.
This was contained in a statement by Mamman Mohammed, the director-general, Press and Media Affairs to the governor.
He stated that the approval was contained in a letter presented by Mr Boucary Sani Malam.
Boucary stated that the president of the Niger Republic approved the award in appreciation of Buni’s contributions to building relationships between Nigeria and the Niger Republic.

He stated that the national honour was in conformity with the provisions of the country’s constitution.
Governor Buni expressed profound gratitude to President Bazoum, the government and the people of Niger Republic for the great honour and recognition.
He assured of his continuous support and commitment to building a stronger relationship between the two countries.
He added that the award would serve as a springboard for him to do more to improve the bond between the two countries.
