BUK expels 29 students, others for exam malpractice

The Senate of Bayero University, Kano (BUK) at its 413 meeting has expelled 29 students, rusticated three and exonerated three others from  misconduct.

A statement by the Acting Director, Directorate of Examinations, Admissions and Records, Malam Aminu Wada Kurawa, said the decision was in accordance with the General Examination and Academic Regulations (GEAR) and of General Regulation Governing Postgraduate Studies (GRGPS) of the institution.

The statement disclosed that the expelled students include 13 from SCE, seven from ENG, and two from EES, among others.

The institution further explained that the students rusticated for one or two semesters are Saleh Aliyu Idris EDU/20/BAE/02087, Khalil Ado Ibrahim EES/18/GEL/00110 and Yusuf Badamasi EDU/20/MTH/ 00670.

Those exonerated because a case of examination misconduct could not be established against them are Rahamah Onono Bello ENG/21/CHE/00434, Amari Apphia Abu PSC/21/STA/00551 and Orkuma Winifred Doobee PSC/20/MTH/ 00670.
