Bayero University, Kano Alumni Association (BUKAA) has elected new officials.
The election was held on Wednesday, December 16, in Kano State.
Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State, who is a 1987 alumnus of the institution, delivered a keynote address at the event.
The election produced Alh. Shuaibu Idris Mikati as the president of the association, Aare Akinwumi Akinyemi will serve as Vice President I while Ahmed Abdulkadir Firdaus was elected Vice President II.
Alh. Salisu Indabawa was elected Secretary General Asst, Ma’aruf Zakariya, Sect. Gen I, and Mairo D Suleiman, Asst. Sect. Gen II while Safiya Stephanie Musa emerged as Financial Secretary.
Other positions are Internal Auditor, Amb. Adamu Babangida; Treasurer, Lawal Ali Gujungu; Social Welfare, Mustapha A. Dawaki; Legal Adviser, Barr. Saidu Tudunwada; Publicity Secretary, Mukhtar Zubairu Surajo.
Dr. Bala Muhammad will serve as Ex-Officio North West; Alh. Ibrahim Idris Danisan Fika, Ex-Officio North East; Aliyu Emu Yusuf, Ex-Officio North Central; Joseph Adewale Rannaiye, Ex-officio South West; Olorogun Oyibo Adejero Mohammed, Ex-Officio South South and Lawrence Juwah (nominated), Ex-Officio South East.
