A 1000 capacity mosque has been opened at the village of President Muhammadu Buhari, Dumurkul, near Daura, Katsina State. The doors of the Friday Prayer Juma’at Mosque were opened to worshipers at a ceremony attended by the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Faruk Umar Faruk, and a number of Islamic leaders in the community yesterday.
The mosque houses a school and a proposed residence for the Imam, according to presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu. The emir praised the family of the president for making a part of their farmland available for building the mosque.
He thanked the president for leading the family to raise the mosque, describing it as an important example of the president’s commitment to his native community. The Imam of the mosque, Alhaji Sulaiman Dutsi, prayed for the success of the Buhari administration.
