Buhari’s son’s wedding: FFK Under Fire Over ‘New Relationship’ With Pantami

A former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has come under intense scrutiny over his “new relationship” with Ali Isa Pantami, Minister of Communications and Digital Economy.

Fani-Kayode, who was among the dignitaries that attended the wedding of President Muhammadu Buhari’s son and the Emir of Bichi’s daughter, had posted a picture of himself with the minister and other key personalities.

He had written: “Flew into Kano with my friends and brothers Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara state, Governor Babagana Umar Zulum of Borno State, Senator Sani Ahmed Yarima, Senator Ali Ndume, Ambassador Bashir Yuguda, Hon. Minister Isa Pantami, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu & others for the wedding.”

The post on Pantami had elicited different reactions as social media users accused him of inconsistency.

Back in April when Pantami was under fire over some comments he  made in the past, Fani-Kayode had labelled him a terrorist and asked President Muhammadu Buhari to fire him.

“He (Pantami) is a religious bigot, an ethnic supremacist, an unrepentant jihadist, a lover of bloodshed, carnage and terror and a psychopathic and clearly insane individual.”

“Pantami is not fit to be a minister of the Federal Republic, but he is also not fit to walk our streets freely,” he had said at the time.

But on Friday, Fani-Kayode hobnobbed with the minister.

Omoyele Sowore, convener of RevolutionNow, was among those who attacked Fani-Kayode over his post.

“Hunger is a bastard! May the cruelest form of hunger never happen to us!” he had tweeted.

Deji Adeyanju, a former ally of the ex-minister, wrote, “FFK is already in Kano for Buhari’s son’s wedding. Same Buhari some people wished dead. In this life, it’s so important to have principles no matter how poor you are; if not you will start looking like a fool. Kai!”

Another social media user said, “Anyone that can pay for his “mamba” is who he will follow. No principle, no value. Only wide nose and deep stomach”

“Let’s pardon him so he can eat wedding jollof in peace. FFK cannot be bitter and not celebrate the children getting married. We should not mind his assault on Buhari,” another person said.
