Zoning debate: Mamman Daura not speaking for Buhari — Presidency
Daily Trust understands that the 80-year-old was flown in a private jet to the UK on Wednesday.
“It’s not an emergency trip, it was planned long ago but was delayed by this pandemic, and you know he has been going to the UK to see his doctors,” the source said.
President Buhari has also been frequently visiting the UK for medical attention and vacations.
Some of his children also studied there.
Many analysts consider Daura among the most influential figures around the President, who help him make some key decisions.
Malam Daura’s recent call for zoning of the Presidency in Nigeria to be jettisoned for competence generated heated debates in the country.
However, both the ruling APC and opposition PDP rejected his idea while the presidency said he was speaking only for himself and not for the president.
