A former Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Prince Clem Agba of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has joined the race for the forthcoming 2024 governorship election in Edo State.

Agba, who served as budget minister under the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari, said his unique blend of experiences, coupled with his career in the public and organised private sectors would bring to bear in the governance of Edo State if elected governor.

He pledged to focus on the economy, promote integrated rural development and urban renewal, improve access to health, education, potable water, and sanitation and ultimately improve the standard of living of the people.

In a related development, a Canada-based security detective, Ogbemudia Bassey Osagie of the Labour Party, has also declared his intention to contest the 2024 governorship election.

Ogbemudia, who declared his intention during an interaction with the Edo Correspondents Chapel, said his administration will partner with a Canadian hydrological company with a view to improving the power supply in the state.
