Speaking at a meeting with “Act Now Professionals” in Abuja, Osinbajo chided President Goodluck Jonathan for his inability to protect the lives and property of Nigerians as enshrined in the constitution.
He said the APC would prioritise security and rescue of the abducted Chibok school girls through the provision of state-of-the art equipment and proper funding of the military.
“I think the major problem with the question of security is again that it was not prioritised by this government. It was not taken seriously enough from the beginning. We are faced with serious failure of government. You do not politicise insurgency like that,” Osinbajo said.
“They pointed accusing fingers at the opposition and said it was the opposition that was sponsoring it until General Buhari almost lost his life when Boko Haram attacked him,” he said.
Osinbajo also said the APC is considering the possibility of creating a Victims Compensation Commission (VCC) which would take care of displaced persons in the North East and other related issues if voted into power.
