President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday arrived Ebonyi State on a two-day visit amid tight security.
Buhari touched down at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, by 10:30am and proceeded to Uburu in Ohanzara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
He was received by Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi; his Enugu counterpart, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi; and government officials.
The president inaugurated several projects constructed by Umahi at his Uburu hometown in Ohanzara Local Government Area of the state.
The projects include the King David University of Medical Sciences, the university’s teaching hospital and a twin flyover and a dual carriageway which passes through the university to Mpu in Enugu State.
Earlier, Umahi appealed to the federal government to take over the university’s teaching hospital because it was beyond the scope of any state to manage.
He said the hospital would solve the challenges of medical tourism confronting the country because it had the best facilities that could be found anywhere in the world.
