President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday unveiled 13 rice pyramids consisting of 200, 000 bags of 50g, which were recovered from farmers in the Northeast sub-region through the CBN’s Anchor Borrowers Programme.
Speaking at the North-East National Rice Festival and flag off of the 2020/2021 dry season cultivation in Gombe, President Buhari said the event marked the return of food sufficiency in the country.

Represented by Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State, the president also launched the sale of rice paddy to millers in the sub-region which also signalled the launch of the 2020/2021 dry season rice cultivation and wet season harvest aggregation.
On his part, CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, said five years after the implementation of the anchor borrowers program, the country has witnessed significant improvement in the agricultural sector and more income to rural dwellers.
