General Buhari announced his formal resignation from ANPP last Wednesday, citing irreconcilable differences between him and leadership of the opposition party as reason for leaving the party altogether.

Speaking with Sunday Trust in Kano, Danbilki Commander warned that if  the former head of state toed the lines of some of his close followers in CPC, the problem made in ANPP would be repeated. He said everybody in the Buhari struggle knew the men that dominated the affairs of the former ANPP presidential candidate and the enemies they so created for him.

“The earlier General Buhari understands the hypocrisy of some his advisers the better for him and his entire followers. We have to offer our own advice to the best of our understanding of the whole situation on ground. We want this man to succeed in our struggle to liberate this country from the bondage of corruption and injustice”, he said.

He said the Buhari Network for Change was fully in support of Buhari’s exit from ANPP and that all its members would equally leave the opposition party and join CPC where the former head of state decamped to.

Danbilki however warned that he and other members of the network would not hesitate to dump Buhari if he eventually allowed some few individuals to hijack the new political party as was the case in ANPP. He said Buhari should encourage everybody to contribute for the overall development of the party and not to allow the affairs of the party in the hand of few individuals.

He said General Buhari should pay particular attention to Kano in order not allow some few self-seeking politicians to hijack the party. He alleged that there were moves by some politicians to take over the entire control of the party because of their “so-called close ties” with the former head of state.
