The Director-General of Kogi State Bureau of Information Services and Grassroots Sensitisation,  Mr. Abdulkarim Abdulmalik  has  said that President  Muhammadu Buhari  remains the only hope to the   revival of the  ailing multi-billion naira Ajaokuta Steel Company if re-elected .

The DG, who expressed joy with the  commencement of the process of implementation for the resuscitation of the largest Steel Company in Africa under Buhari’s  government called for his re-election to enable him conclude the process.

Abdulmalik  lauded Buhari’s commitment to the  Ajaokuta project, saying  that he was the only sitting Nigeria’s leader who had gone on a working visit to the site of the project along with all his Cabinet Ministers when he was the Head of State.

The Director-General, while fielding questions from Journalists in his office, also said that the federal government’s effort was at advanced stage towards completion of the project.

He said Kogi State was also not relenting on the completion of the project as Governor Yahaya Bello had been making concerted efforts, negotiating with the federal gGovernment to ensure  that the investment comes into fruition.

While speaking on the achievements of the present administration in the  state, Abdulmalik said Governor Yahaya Bello had delivered adequately in the five thematic areas of his administration and had gone beyond to perform excellently in the fight against insecurity in the state.

On ranching , he explained that Kogi State government was first to signify interest in the federal government’s proposed ranching system because ranching remained the only feasible solution to farmers/herdsmen clashes in the country, maintaining that the land designated for such purpose was still available for the take-off of the programme in the state.

He said ranching would, among other advantages, foster unity, promote economic development and erase the monopoly of cattle rearing in Nigeria.

On whether Governor Yahaya Bello would vie for a second term, the  Director General said the Governor was busy working to justify each day in office, fulfilling the mandate of optimum service delivery to the people of the state, while leaving the concerns of another tenure for the electorate to decide.

He said if, however, given the opportunity of a second tenure, the Governor would complete all ongoing projects and also ensure that a template for better governance is put in place in the state.

He advised those who are using the name of the Governor to perpetrate evil to desist henceforth as the name, Yahaya Bello is embedded in fairness and the Governor would stop at nothing to ensure that the simple majority in the state is carried along in his government.
