Buhari/Osinbanjo ticket and Bosun Emmanuel’s theory

When I want a thorough job done, I do it myself. It has been my policy, it is one reason I am not really a democrat. The democratic procedure of subjecting a good thing to endless debates and opinion of people with impracticable solutions rankles me.
This is a fatalistic thought for any politrician, and I guess this is why most politricians lie. Added to this is the terrifying heckling of friends, family, laggards, and hangers on. They insist that in cooking the dish of service, you should serve their plates first. They do not want the muzungu share where a tiny morsel seats on the Made-in-China, but the good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over. A friend in public office is a dead elephant inviting different knives. My friends in position are friends lost until they climb down from their high horse.
So, General Muhammadu Buhari, my preferred doctor for the surgical excision, tissue and ligament repair that Naija needs kept us in the limbo for days while he shopped for his deputy. He helped hackers and the rumour mill. New convert Buharists were virtually losing their cool because in their minds, it was taking too long. They believed that he should have had someone in mind even before he was declared candidate. In management, it is called planning. Finding a presidential running mate is not as easy as the December 13 saga in the Dutch town of IJssestein. There the plan of a 32-year-old man to propose to his girlfriend from her window using a crane led to the evacuation of the neighbourhood. The story had a happy ending and the lady said yes, but when they return from their honeymoon, they would have bills to pay. It is not the best start a new life, believe me.
Until he grants another visual interview, Buhari’s electoral manifesto would appear to be the much maligned Channelstv interview. Every audio interview granted in the past has been deliberately misinterpreted to suit the narrative of Buhari haters. In the Channels interview, the soft spoken Buhari described himself as ‘a converted democrat’ saying he would defer to the party in the choice of a running mate. That is scary for an opposition party not devoid of its own mafia-style godfathers. Yes, like their PDP counterpart, the APC do not always get it right.  We would have wished it was a party of angels sent from an unblemished planet but alas, they too like you and I are Naija. Even more, most of them are recycled from the PDP dustbin warts and all. When Buhari wins, they will need the transition through purgatory.
Never since Umaru Yar’adua crossed out a name and penciled another at Evil Square has the nation stood still as they did last week. Anti-Buhari elements were hoping for that faulty move that would kill our last hope; the Muslim-Muslim ticket. An APC godfather nearly gave them their wish but as they say God is a Naija. Another pastor in a nation of fanatically religious but incredibly unholy nation has been drafted in. It is not the public politics that kills our nation, it is the undercurrents, the theory of Bosun Emmanuel. This German deportee returned home for one purpose, to put fire in the tinderbox called Naija. His highly inflammatory Youtube audio theory titled Pastor Bosun Emmanuel exposed the truth about Nigeria plays into the hands of the enemies of our nation who predicted that we would not survive 2015.
Emmanuel’s audio was forwarded to me over the week and I am just analyzing the little I have watched. His mumbo-jumbo of mishmashed lies and half-baked-truths about the Naija project is so incendiary it is not worth forwarding to anyone especially the gullible and the fickle-minded. But then, it provides an incredible insight into why President Jones and the looting train believe they can always ride the ethno-religious train to undeserved or contrived electoral victory. It explains why campaigns are not about issues but straws. It shows why the anti-Buhari movement gathers momentum in spite of facts on the ground. Bosun Emmanuel believes that a president who danced while the people die, refused to visit Chibok or even Lafia when it was attacked is his own God’s chosen candidate. He goes round crowded churches sowing the seeds of ethno-religious and geopolitical hatred and discord. To him and his crowd of opportunists, even a Buhari and a Jesus Christ ticket would not be Christian enough. But God is a Naija, every move thus far shows we still have a programme on his computer. This country would be rescued, the hands of Christians, Muslims and unbelievers would carry aloft the flag of victory in 2015.
