Buhari, Osinbajo’s wives canvass women’s votes

The duo, Hajiya Aisha Buhari and Mrs Oludolapo Osinbajo, inaugurated the APC women presidential campaign initiative in Abuja to solicit for women’s votes at the February polls.
Speaking at the occasion, Aisha Buhari said women have a great role to play in the elections as they form the bulk of the population and called on them to come out and vote to change their lives for the better.
“Today, we are here as a united body to join our male counterparts to mobilise the women at all levels towards the success of our great party in the forth coming election,” she said.
On the office of the First Lady, she said if the office is not recognised by the constitution, she would limit her roles to the traditional functions of a First Lady, which include visiting the orphanages and caring for women and the less-privileged in the society.
In her remarks, Oludolapo Osinbajo, who highlighted the sufferings of women and children of the less-privileged, urged the APC women to rise and take their own destiny into their hands.
She maintained that women are the ones who set the standard in the family and decide whether children will be honest or dishonest.
