Buhari orders flag to fly at half-mast, declares holiday for armed forces

President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the national flag to be flown at half-mast in honour of Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, the late Chief of Army Staff and 10 others who died in an air crash on Friday.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, said this in a statement on Sunday.

Mustapha said the president ordered that the flag be flown at half-mast in all public buildings, facilities and official residences from Monday, May 24 to Wednesday, May 26th.

“The President has similarly approved a work free day for members of the Armed Forces on Monday 24 May, 2021,” Mustapha said.
