President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed shock and sadness over the death of the commissioner for commerce in Jigawa State, Alhaji Salisu Zakar Hadejia, Chigarin Hadejia.

The president, in a statement issued Saturday by his spokesman, Garba Shehu, sent condolences to the government and people of Jigawa State on the loss of a strong ally, who accompanied him in his political odyssey.

President Buhari also extended condolences to the family and supporters of the late Chigari, who was the deputy gubernatorial candidate of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in 2011.

The president described the deceased as a politician who understood the nuances of grassroots mobilisation.
